ROGE Conference 2024: RCL speakers deliver great presentations

On 5th and 6th August, five Regent College London (RCL) students and four academic staff attended and presented at the 13th International Conference on Restructuring of the Global Economy (ROGE). The event took place at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford.

The ROGE Conference 2024 was a prestigious gathering of scholars, researchers, practitioners and industry executives from across the world, seeking to explore a wealth of issues related to business and economic development, with a focus on promoting sustainability.

Jointly hosted by the Centre for Business and Economic Research (CBER) and the Future University in Egypt, ROGE 2024 attracted over 120 participants from 25 countries, underscoring the event’s growing international significance. From insightful keynote talks to thought-provoking panel discussions and engaging workshops, the conference provided a forum for lively debate and networking.

We are delighted to share that the nine speakers representing RCL each delivered acclaimed presentations. Between them, the group won the Best Paper Presenter award three times!

RCL student Manjeet Manjeet won the coveted award with their paper, The impact of human energy crisis on the employee’s performance in IT sector in India. Meanwhile, RCL academic Vishu Sadanand won for their paper, Regional attributes and spatial distribution of foreign direct investment (FDI) in emerging markets: evidence from India.

Finally, RCL academic Shobha Harebasur won with their paper, Strategies and framework to embed culturally diverse resources in teaching business and management qualifications. This is a joint institutional paper co-authored with Sandhya Thirunagari, Palto Datta from RCL and Bonya Chakraborty and Nana Akomeah from London College of Contemporary Arts, UK.

The Best Paper Presenter award is voted for by the conference participants, making it a special achievement for our winners. We would like to extend huge congratulations to all our students and staff who attended the conference.
