Brandt Snedeker has been named a captain’s assistant for the 2024 Presidents Cup, which will be contested later this month in Montreal.
He will join Stewart Cink, Justin Leonard and Kevin Kisner on the staff of captain Jim Furyk. Snedeker, 43, replaces Keegan Bradley, who was named as the fourth captain’s assistant in August, then later was tabbed by Furyk as a captain’s pick for the 12-player U.S. team.
The Presidents Cup will take place at The Royal Montreal Golf Club on Sept. 24-29.
This is the first time Snedeker will serve as a captain’s assistant. He competed in the 2013 Presidents Cup at Muirfield Village Golf Club in Dublin, Ohio, and was a member of the U.S. team at the Ryder Cup in 2012 and 2016.
Snedeker has won nine PGA Tour events, plus the 2012 FedEx Cup.
“I was honored to get the call from Jim and thrilled to accept this role as one of his captain’s assistants for the Presidents Cup,” Snedeker said. “He’s someone I’ve looked up to throughout my career and I know will be a strong leader for the U.S. Team at Royal Montreal. My goal is to add a trusted voice to our players throughout the week and do everything I can to help us pull out the win.”
The U.S. team consists of automatic qualifiers Scottie Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay and Sahith Theegala, as well as Furyk’s captain’s picks — Bradley, Sam Burns, Tony Finau, Brian Harman, Russell Henley and Max Homa.
