The Houston Dynamo announced the signing of free agent midfielder Junior Moreno on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old Venezuelan’s contract runs through the 2024 season and includes a 2025 club option.
Moreno returns to MLS after a brief stint this year with Saudi Arabian top-flight side Al-Hazem SC.
He has seven goals and 12 assists in 153 MLS matches (142 starts) with D.C. United (2018-21) and FC Cincinnati (2022-23).
“Junior is a versatile player with extensive MLS experience, illustrated by his ability to help lead multiple teams to the MLS Cup Playoffs,” Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said. “He also has a previous relationship with head coach Ben Olsen after spending three successful seasons together at D.C. United, including two postseason runs.
“We look forward to welcoming Junior into the squad in Houston as the team continues its push for the playoffs and looks to make the postseason in consecutive seasons for the first time since 2013.”
Moreno’s professional career also includes stints with Venezuela’s Deportiva Lara (2012-15) and Zulia (2015-17).
