On Monday 18th November, the RCL community came together to celebrate our Winter Graduation 2024 at Friends House, our beautiful central London venue, just opposite Euston Station.
The event was a resounding success and a fitting tribute to the achievements of our remarkable graduates from RCL’s Schools of Business, Engineering and Computing, and Health and Sports Science.
The day featured two joyous ceremonies, hosting a total of 636 RCL students. Each ceremony was held in The Light, a spacious auditorium illuminated by a large skylight that bathed the room in natural light. It was heartwarming to witness our graduates creating memories to treasure for a lifetime, surrounded by family, friends and fellow students.
For those unable to attend in person, the ceremonies were streamed live on Facebook, allowing loved ones near and far to join in the celebrations and share their best wishes.
Inspiring words of wisdom
Before our graduates walked across the stage, Dr Selva Pankaj, RCL’s CEO and Accountable Officer, delivered a thought-provoking address on the essence of education. He emphasised that education is not simply about teaching people what they do not know – but also teaching them to behave how they do not behave.
As our graduates embark on their next chapter, Dr Pankaj encouraged them to remain open-minded and adaptable in an ever-evolving world.
George Holmes, Vice Chancellor of Bolton University, applauded the graduates not only for their accomplishments but for their decision to invest in their education, describing it as “one of the best investments” they will ever make. Sir Gavin Williamson MP, Chair of Regent Global’s Advisory Board, extended his gratitude to the families and friends who provided unwavering support throughout the graduates’ RCL journey.
RCL Chairman Steve Phillips urged the graduates to stay connected with the RCL community and left them with a powerful message of encouragement: “The future belongs to those who believe their dreams are within reach.”
A day to remember
As the final student crossed the stage, the atmosphere in the room was electric. Steve Phillips returned to the podium to lead the graduates in the highly anticipated cap toss. It was a spectacular conclusion to a day filled with pride, unity and the promise of bright futures.
RCL’s Winter Graduation 2024 was a true celebration of the dedication, resilience and hard work demonstrated by our graduates. To each of you, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and look forward to witnessing the incredible contributions you will make in the years ahead.
