If somebody told you that it was time to watch a soccer game, you’d want Lionel Messi to play in it. The funny thing about that is that most Americans had no clue how good the dude was until he started playing for Inter Miami of Major League Soccer.

It is kind of like when Zlatan—oh, he has a last name, Ibrahimovic—came over to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy under a ton of hype. A month or so later, everybody understood and was raving about him but still had no idea which overseas team or teams he played with.

It’s Messi time on Sunday night when Argentina meets Colombia for the Copa America title.

It’s the final day before the All-Star break, so we have a baseball prop for you. And a WNBA game as well.

COLOMBIA VS. ARGENTINA

I guess you tune in for the Messi Magic and then see what type of soccer game breaks out.

Argentina is going for a record 16th Copa America title, and that bid will certainly be bolstered by Messi’s contributions. Colombia only has one Copa title, but the country has a highly impressive unbeaten streak. It sits at 28 (22-0-6) and dates back to a loss on February 1, 2022, to… ARGENTINA. Yeah, kind of predictable.

Colombia’s James Rodriguez has recorded a Copa record six assists, so he’s a player to keep an eye on. Unless you have sworn to keep both on Messi at all times.

While Argentina is the favorite (+115), the money you can pocket with a Colombia victory gives you more bang for your buck. Remember, they are willing to decide this championship with penalty kicks, and there’s no telling what crazy thing can happen then (hello, crossbar).

BALTIMORE ORIOLES VS. NEW YORK YANKEES

The Orioles are limping into the All-Star break with five consecutive losses and have scored just four runs during the span. Baltimore has lost 4-1 and 6-1 in the first two games of this series in New York.

The Orioles have seven guys with more than 10 homers, so that is a bunch of hitters being kept in check. I suppose Gunnar Henderson (27 homers) was due for a power outage as he has gone deep just once in the last 15 games.

Aaron Judge hit his 34th homer on Saturday to surpass the record for most homers by a Yankee prior to the All-Star break. He shared the old mark with Roger Maris. Judge also has three homers in just 12 at-bats against Baltimore’s scheduled starter, Dean Kremer.

Alex Verdugo has two blasts off Kremer. The right-hander gave up two runs and four in seven innings while beating New York on April 30, and the runs came on solo shots by Juan Soto and Austin Wells. We see Soto (23 homers) taking Kremer deep again.

Juan Soto over 0.5 homers, +300 (DraftKings)

ATLANTA DREAM VS. SEATTLE STORM

The Storm have been enjoying a good season, and a big reason for that is former WNBA MVP Nneka Ogwumike. After 12 seasons with the Los Angeles Sparks, Ogwumike has joined the Space Needle and Pike Place Market as a major Seattle attraction.

Ogwumike matched her season high of 26 points in Friday’s 91-63 trampling of the Minnesota Lynx. It was her seventh 20-point effort of the season and her second in the past three games.

The Storm are completing a nine-game homestand—they are 6-2 during it—and the Dream have lost four straight road games. Atlanta did notch a stunning 78-74 road win over the Connecticut Sun on June 28.

Atlanta has lost six straight games and nine of its last 10. Not surprisingly, the tough times have come with standout Rhyne Howard missing the last nine with an ankle injury. While the Dream appear headed for another setback, that’s too many points to pass up with the Storm, knowing they will be packing suitcases for the first time in four weeks for a Tuesday road game in Los Angeles.

Dream +13.5 spread, -110 (DraftKings)
