Tell us how you’ve supported your mental health in difficult times

From bereavement to relationship breakdown, what tips can you share for coping mentally with difficult times?

Everyone has mental health, just as we all have physical health. And like the health of our bodies, our mental wellbeing fluctuates too. The evidence is now clear that prevention is better than cure – and experts agree that there is much we can do, big and seemingly small, to help lift our mood or ease our anxiety. During scary life events though, it becomes even more challenging.

So, what has worked for you during times of upheaval, such as the loss of a loved one, a change in working circumstances or a frightening diagnosis?

Whether it’s been mental maintenance, such as prioritising sleep, eating healthily and maintaining social connections, or techniques or decisions that were specific to your experience, mental health condition or other circumstances – we hope you will share your wisdom with other readers.

We’ll be collating some of the most interesting responses for an article coming soon to mark Mental Health Awareness Week (May 13-19). Please fill in the form below by May 12 to take part. We will not be able to publish all answers, but we will read them.
